Our June meeting featured our 2nd annual Vender Extravaganza and Swap Meet we had Josh Hughes from Scotty, Gabe Miller from Sportco, and Tim Bush from Outdoor Emporium. They all had some great new stuff to share with us and got everyone excited to get out and give them a try. The Swap Meet was again a big hit so look for it again next year. Congratulations to Mike Perusse and Carey. Mike is the G Loomis rep and had to miss our event do to the birth of their Son Porter Michael Perusse.

Our July Speaker will be Capt. Bill Dever from Puget Sound Salmon Charters. Capt. Bill will be talking on Puget Sound Salmon fishing. With a lifetime of fishing knowledge and over ten years fishing Puget Sound waters, Capt. Bill specializes in light tackle angling in Puget Sound and the surrounding area. This looks to be another one of those nights with a cooler full of information. Just in time too to get us ready for our Aug 1st derby. http://www.pugetsoundsalmoncharters.com/

Terry Wiest our derby chair has this year's event looking pretty good. We're really excited about the 8th Annual SKC PSA Salmon Derby to benefit Cast for Kids, Washington CCA, Puget Sound Anglers and other Kids events to be held on Saturday, August 1st. We will once again have 3 weigh stations so you won't have to travel as far to get those salmon weighed in. This year's weigh in stations will be the, Secrest Marina in Elliot Bay, Point Defiance Boat House and the Des Moines Marina. The prize ceremony and BBQ will be held at Des Moines.

Being part of the Northwest Salmon Series, you'll have a chance to win a new boat just by purchasing a ticket to our event. We'll also have a kid's derby section with first prize being a trip to Wild Waves for the winner plus a few of his or her friends. The Derby first place will once again be a $3,000 check. (We also have 10 Guided trips as part of this years prizes.

Tickets can be purchased at Auburn Sports, Outdoor Emporium, Sportco, Sportsman's Warehouse, and C J Marine in DesMoines and for your convenience we'll once again offer derby tickets on-line at http://www.pugetsoundanglers.net/ you may also purchase tickets on-line even if you don't plan to fish the Derby, just to get another chance at that fantastic boat. Steve Nelson has been working on some great member outings. His schedule of outings is growing and will soon have them posted on our web site. Dan Berg Our Raffle master will have another full table for our "members only" raffle. Bob Wigley our 4 star chef will have Bob's legendary Dog House in full operation so come early and have some good eats.
