Presidents Message by Frank Eshpeter
Our January meeting we had the one and only Captain Downriggin
himself John Abbott. John has been a long time successful
Puget Sound Angler and a Tackle Manufacturer with some of
the most innovative tackle around. The Captain Packed the
house and put on one of the most informative shows we have
had.
Terry Wiest gave us a presentation on the up coming Salmon
and Steelhead U trips. Wow these look to be trips of a lifetime.

We kicked off a special Raffle
Alaska Adventure Charters
1 full day of guided fishing for up to 4 people. Fishing
would be your choice of either saltwater halibut fishing
or freshwater fishing for King Salmon on the Kenai
River. Also includes 2 nights of lodging for up to 4
people in their guest cabin. This guest cabin is fully furnished
with 2 bedrooms downstairs and 4 twin beds upstairs in the
loft. Full kitchen, bathroom w/shower and living area. The
guest cabin is 3 1/2 miles south of the town of Soldotna,
located on the Kenai Peninsula.
This donated trip may be taken anytime from June 1st though
July 7th or September 1st - 25th (September would be Silver
Salmon fishing on the Kenai River).

fishing and or lodging as they choose.
South King County Puget Sound Anglers is a 501© (3) nonprofit
organization that is dedicated to preserving quality fisheries.
We believe that our fisheries resources can be restored
to what it should be with sound biological management. We
promote comradery among anglers. We believe that our grandchildren
can have higher quality fisheries than any of us have ever
had. To accomplish our objectives we support community outreach
and education with volunteers and monetary contributions.
Some of the programs we support include: Highline Community
College Marine Science Scholarships Cast for Kids Mid-Puget
Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group Harms Way this program
is similar to the Wounded Warriors Program Summer Youth
Conservation Camp Coastal Conservation Association PNW
Because we are a 501©(3) non-profit organization, all donations
are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The
majority of our funds are derived from contributions and
our annual Salmon Derby. Please help us in our efforts to
save fisheries.
Our February Guest will be our very own Tom Pollack. He
will be giving us the greatest and latest information on
a very untouched fishery. Lake Washington Cutthroat and
Perch come see what is right at our back door!
Bear Holmes will bring us up to date on the Puget Sound
Rockfish Conservation Plan (PSRCP).
Tom Pollack our Government affairs officer will have the
latest news on what's happening around the state and what
we can look forward to.
Terry Wiest our Programs and Derby Chair will bring us
up to date on what is going on derbies and other events
around our area.
Bob Wigley our 4 star chef will have Bob's legendary Dog
House in full operation so come early and have some good
eats.
Dan Berg our Raffle Master once again has a full table
of top notch goodies. Dan has been working on out doing
himself every month and this is another one not to miss.
Let's not forget it is time to renew your membership. Dues
are $30 and can be renewed on line at our web site or at
any SKC PSA meeting.
